Description

Front motorcycle tire Trailmax Meridian by Dunlop. It is suitable for on-off riding, meaning it can be used both on the road (paved surfaces) and off-road routes. It should be noted that tires of this type are a middle-ground solution for both uses.

Tyre dimensions and characteristics

The dimensions are 110/80-19. That means it has a width of 110mm, profile 80, and can be fitted on a 19" diameter rim. The profile of the tyres, which is the height of the tyre's sidewall, is always referred to as a plain number without a unit of measurement because it is a percentage of the width. For example, a 180/55 tyre has a width of 180mm and a profile of 55, meaning it has a profile of 180 x 0.55 = 99mm.

The load index and the speed index are two other important characteristics of the tyres. Specifically, the load index is the maximum load under which the tyres are expected to function correctly and is described by an integer, which corresponds to kilograms, while the speed index is the maximum speed under which the tyres are expected to function correctly and is described by a letter from the English alphabet, which corresponds to km/h. It should be noted that the maximum kilograms corresponding to the load index are per tyre.

Note:

The maximum weight increases proportionally with the load index number, meaning the higher the number, the greater the maximum operating weight of the tire. Similarly, the maximum speed increases as the speed index letter "increases," meaning the speed index "S" corresponds to a lower speed than that of the "V" index.

In this case, the tire is 59V, meaning the load index and speed index are 59 and V, respectively.

The marking TL comes from the initials of the words Tubeless Tyres. Tires with this marking do not require an inner tube.

Ice-Ax

The innovative "ice-ax" tread design offers grip on gravel, increases traction on unpaved roads, and provides optimal water evacuation, helping drivers feel confident in all conditions.

Rayon Ply

The Rayon Ply carcass handles temperature better, minimizing warm-up times and achieving more efficient use of the tread compound.

V-Strom 650 2004, without ABS. Road use, no off-road. Soft tire, with quick warm-up, amazing grip, quite agile in corners. With a balanced to fast profile. I was impressed that even in the first kilometers (break-in) it quickly unfolds its virtues, regardless of any hesitation. Only time will tell the rate of wear and whether it maintains its good characteristics.
    * riding a bike that has neither crazy performance, nor the best setup, nor the best brakes... I could already be writing 'hymns' for this tire. It gives you a lot of confidence to corner and to brake. You feel like you are getting to know whatever you are riding all over again.
    * compared to whatever you have tried before... it makes other popular and honest tires seem like typical average choices.

What everyone else said. There is no such tire!!!
I have it on a VStrom and the tire is like a suction cup from the very first minute.
The funny thing is that I have 39,000 km, as unbelievable as it sounds, and I have the impression that they get better and better as they wear down..
I got the Pirelli Scorpion 2 for a change because I have some hang-up from the Scorpion 1, but also after 2 consecutive Dunlops for a change, but I still haven't changed them, at least not before 40K.
The tire still has a bit of tread and even on dry pavement it's unbeatable, and when leaning, it's top-notch, you feel it sticks to the ground like chewing gum and for the first time I reach the tire 1 centimeter from the edge. I have never felt insecure on dry roads.
When they were newer, they were reliable in the rain too, but for some time now I don't risk it much as the tread has decreased.
It even handles a bit of gravel even now with 40K on its back.

I have had them for a year on a GS1200 and have done 20,000 km. Their wear is very minimal. Incredible grip on any terrain and in the rain. These days I am putting on the same ones again.

I wore Anakke 3 for years. A friend recommended it to me. At first I was skeptical but after several rides I realized that it warms up relatively easily and behaves very well in the rain. I recommend it without reservation. On crosstourer 1200

    The tires are amazing.
They warm up very quickly and provide grip from early on.
They have excellent grip in corners even if you push the bike either by braking or accelerating with lean.
They also have good performance in braking and the ABS rarely kicks in, only on very slippery asphalt when you overdo it.
They are extremely comfortable and quiet.
I haven't tested them in the rain yet, but in a downpour they performed quite well.
    I highly recommend them.
They are worn on a 2007 Vstrom 650.
