Description

Description

This is a specialized edition aimed at collectors of handmade knives, knife users (such as hunters, people who engage in outdoor activities, etc.), amateur and professional handmade knife makers, as well as those who would like to delve into the world of custom knives.

The book's pages provide detailed descriptions, with rich photographic material, of all types of blades, types of steels, and the characteristics for evaluating a quality knife. For the first time in Greece, the appearance, properties, and manufacturing methods of different Damascus blades are described. Concepts and definitions, such as twist-type Damascus blades, San Mai, from Wootz, Damascus blades with meteorite, etc., are made simple and understandable to the general public. The book includes a brief reference to contemporary Greek handmade knife makers and traditional Greek "schools" of knife making.

The text is complemented by instructions for proper sharpening and maintenance of knives.
