  • I bought it in 2021 for about 60 bucks, it has been working almost every day since then, it hasn't had any problems BUT it is incredibly noisy. I will prefer Western Digital again next time.

I have the 3TB version with code DT01ACA300. Purchased in 2015, it has been used in 3 different computers, meaning all the phases of upgrades I have made since then.

At this point, it has been functioning for about 9 out of 10 years. The health status still shows as GOOD, while its performance has remained high. It is clearly used for movies, images, etc., meaning files where the access speed is not particularly important to me.

For its years of use and flawless operation alone, I would recommend it, although it has now been replaced with better drives at the same or even lower price.

I bought it today and the computer doesn't recognize it at all. I watched various videos to see if I could figure it out, but unfortunately I didn't succeed. Even though it seems to be working, it's nowhere to be found in the system! I have changed many internal and external drives before, and I never had a problem. Of course, they were all WD. This is the first time I bought this brand and I feel like I wasted my money! I will contact the store and hopefully I will figure it out and not have to go back and forth with a hard drive in my hands. I do not recommend it!!!

For its price, it is very reliable. 2TB at 7200 RPM, it doesn't heat up much, it makes occasional clicking sounds but its health is okay after 4-5 years. In fact, I sent the first one I bought to warranty because it was making strange noises and vibrations, without affecting its functionality if I remember correctly. The only thing that troubled me back then was that there was no official representation in Greece for hard drives, so I had to contact them externally and then deal with the store. Nevertheless, it continues to perform strongly after so many years in a machine that is not used daily.

Good but always kept an eye on it and after 5 years and several formats + fill ups it started to have serious speed issues, making the games unplayable and producing strange sounds. But for some reason, after a few clean-ups, it works perfectly fine.

I have all my data on this disk since July 2019. At first, it was the computer's boot manager. It took 1 minute to boot and was generally slow. Eventually, Windows and applications were moved to an SSD, and this disk remained for data and games. It's useless for HDD. Despite the high rotations per minute (7200rpm), which help with speed, it is very quiet. It makes minimal noise when it starts working (it already spins in about 2 seconds), and then it is quiet. In a case with poor airflow (GPU at 75 degrees) and no fan on the disk, while playing GTA V (100% usage all the time), it doesn't go above 35-40 degrees.

If someone wants to get this hard drive, I have to say that it is worth it. It has not caused me any problems and I have had it since 2012. I'm not saying it's new, the new ones are better, but the old one is different

I have had it since 2013. It has undergone format after format, games after games, and still going strong. Needless to say, today, with just one HDD, you can't go anywhere, but from day one it does its job perfectly.

I had the disk initially on a computer very good but it is somewhat slow in reading. I had it on the computer for 2 years and then I put it on a recorder for 4 years. At some point, the recorder couldn't see it, so I took it out and put it back on my computer and it worked fine. It says it still has 100% life, but the read is probably a bit slow on this model. I recommend it for simple tasks and moderate gaming.

For its price, it is very honest, 2TB at 7200 RPM. If I have to say something, the only thing I want to say is that occasionally when I use it (because I have Windows on an SSD M.2), it makes a noise for about 1 second every 10 minutes or so. I don't know if it only happens to me or if it's like that, but it doesn't bother me. For 50 euros, it is very good

From what I have tried for about 1 year+, it is an average disk, with average speed, historically average reliability of the company in the field, but also average use of it.
Oh, and its capacity is also average - it is no longer sufficient for modern storage standards!
For backup, as a disk for quick internet downloads and not particularly demanding uses, it can work for you!
However, I would not store important things since I already have a previous bad experience with a Toshiba 3TB from the same series (head crash and it is history)

  • I have had it for 4 years for gaming and programs and it has never crashed once, but like every mechanical device, it needs to be rebuilt 1-3 times a month to be in good condition. With 400gb of writing out of 465gb, which is its actual capacity, its health after 4 years is at 90%. Recommended

Well, I've had it for 7 months and I've stored games and files. I believe it's fast for an HDD because I tried downloading Fortnite on both an SSD and an HDD. There wasn't any noticeable difference. It's not worth buying something more expensive for 1TB. Instead of spending 50 euros on an HDD, get this one and an SSD.

I have had it for 9 months and it works perfectly. I have it for files, and any game that I don't want to put on the SSD. It is fast and quiet (except for the moments it comes out of idle mode where it makes a little noise but nothing major). I have it, as well as my acquaintances, and it works perfectly.

P.S. to those who complain that it takes a long time to boot, if it's possible in 2019 to complain about this thing. HDDs are now almost exclusively for storage. If you want a fast boot, go get an SSD, their prices have dropped significantly and they are worth it.

Well, I've had him for a year and a half and the day before yesterday he presented me with an issue. Out of the blue, he started making clicking sounds and not responding at all... After hours, he starts working again on his own, but it seems like he's on his last legs. Luckily, I have made backups and I will replace him at the first opportunity...

P.S. I have two of these, the other one is a 3tb and it's been going strong for three years. What can I say about the 2tb, maybe the batch wasn't good and it turned out to be junk...

I have this hard drive here for about a year now. I haven't had any problems so far, it doesn't go over 36 degrees Celsius and it doesn't make any noise (only when I push it hard and even then, very little). Overall, my computer is very bad and low capability compared to this hard drive that "holds" the entire setup.

Something less than 3 months in my possession. Quite fast for the standards of the era since everyone uses HDDs only for storage and not for installing games and programs. However, I did tests in this area and the disk is great! Fast, quiet, and efficient. It does exactly what it says. I highly recommend it for its price and capacity! 5/5

It's a very good disk. I've had it for two years for storage. It's quite fast for this job (downloading movies, storing photos and videos, as well as documents). It's also used through the PC to watch movies on the TV. Quiet with good temperatures. Reliable, given that the Kingston SSD broke during the same period and they were purchased together. I have an old system (LGA 775, Core 2 Duo E8400), so it's perfect for me. Maybe it would have been better to get the 2TB version. I highly recommend it!

Update: 01-09-2021, I still have it and it works perfectly. Now the system is i7-870, 8GB DDR3 RAM, and 1050ti. It's used for storing photos, documents, and movies. I have an SSD for software.

A very good disk, at a very low price!
For those of you who criticize HDDs, you need to understand that now they are only for storage.
I have tried it as the main disk of the system, but it's not for much.
So instead of complaining, spend a little more money and get an SSD...

I have had it for about a year when I installed it, I thought that I hadn't connected the SATA very quietly compared to some Seagate ones I have. read/write 178/166 numbers very good for a mechanical hard drive. It heats up a little more compared to other hard drives, that is now that we have summer it reaches 40 in data transfer but it also depends on the case it will be put in and if a fan will cool it... Completely satisfied. It will show over time how long it will last. I am still impressed by how quiet it is, no click, no vibration, nothing!

Really good and cheap disk. If you look closely, it has some mud on it (a few specks of dirt for example) because it went through a flood, unfortunately. AND IT WORKS PERFECTLY!! It's worth the money and the last euro you will spend. I've had it for about 3-4 years, maybe even more, I can't remember. I've almost filled it with 120GB remaining, but even if I fill it up again, I won't have any issues, it will be great. Maybe I'll upgrade to a 2TB to have more space to install more games.

Recommended

I bought it today and put it in an external case with USB 3 connection for backup. No problems so far and its price is quite low for 2TB and it is silent. I hope it will last a long time. I also provide 2 pics with info and benchmark.

I bought it because of good reviews and reliability. I already have two other Toshiba disks and I am satisfied. I only use it for storage. After about 3 years, it is perfect.

My PC is SLOW!!!! I don't know if you have good read/write speeds, but everything takes an hour to open! DO NOT BUY IT because you will cry for your money! Buy it only if you have the operating system on an SSD, otherwise STAY AWAY!

This hard drive, I have to say, broke after 2 years and started to turn on and off while it was still functioning, but I'm not blaming it. It endured a lot from me since I had it as a 24/7 server in operation

  • I bought it in 2021 for about 60 bucks, it has been working almost every day since then, it hasn't had any problems BUT it is incredibly noisy. I will prefer Western Digital again next time.

  • I have the 3TB version with code DT01ACA300.

  • I bought it today and the computer doesn't recognize it at all.
