Summary The life of George, as recounted by his son Konstantinos, is an odyssey in itself. He lived and actively participated in the dramatic events that shaped Greece and the rest of the world in the 20th century, with the most notable being the night of October 22, 1943, when the glorious Greek destroyer "Adrias" collided with a German mine off Kalymnos and was split in two. George was 17 years old at the time and was a member of that heroic crew.

For many decades, he wandered and fought across four continents and had the fortune to interact with prominent Greek and international personalities in politics and the intellectual sphere. His bravery in all areas of his life was always accompanied by the courage of his ideas. Through tireless efforts and faith in his ideals, he managed to fulfill his promise to his uncle Konstantinos Karatheodori and become a distinguished engineer of gigantic dams and hydroelectric stations.

With the difference that, by determining his own fate, this generous fighter identified with that of our nation and ranks among our heroes, with his life serving as an example for all of us.
