Which parent doesn’t want to have good relationships with their children? Who prefers to turn their home into a barracks and issue daily orders? Who willingly accepts being maneuvered by their children?

But: which parent has learned to distinguish the act from the doer? Who has learned to recognize their mistakes in front of their children without feeling diminished in value? Who grew up with the understanding that there are no "good" people who only do "good" deeds, nor "bad" people who only do "bad" ones? That "good" and "bad" are components of human nature?

All parents have good intentions, but they have never had the tools of democratic education.
