As a monitor, it is excellent, but like every gigabyte product, the build quality is terrible. In less than 1 year, the power supply burned out (without DEI being at fault). The factory USB it had did not work for connecting to a PC and I had to buy a new cable. Unacceptable for a €600 monitor.

Update: I have had it for about 3 years now, the DisplayPort simply stopped working for no reason and it has infinite burn-in issues, any open window shows the previous image faintly. A comparable Dell monitor with the same features and price works perfectly and has better colors. I wish I could give it 0 stars.

I was searching for almost a year which monitor to buy. Colors, ease of use in the menu (profiles, etc.), I haven't encountered any issues. It was purchased for around 600 euros. Maybe I was lucky because I truly have ZERO backlight bleeding!!! Maybe the best purchase I made in 2020. If I went back in time, maybe I would have bought a larger ultra-wide monitor ONLY for the work I do (8-14 hours in a chair), but no one knew what would happen with Covid. If you are interested in a gaming monitor or an awesome all-around monitor, you will not find anything better.

Construction incredibly good, mainly metallic. Nice RGB, nice image but... generally tragic panel:

Within 1 month, it had 3 stuck green pixels. Top right backlight bleeding and bottom left glow. The warranty has 0 bright dots, but it needs to be sent to the Netherlands because we don't have an RMA center in Greece. I made a very bad choice, prefer screens with representatives in our country as the quality control on IPS screens is unacceptable.

Additionally, freesync has brightness flickering if the screen goes to sleep and you wake it up. You have to change the frequency afterwards, e.g. 165 -> 144 -> 165 to get freesync unstuck or disable sleep. So, bad firmware as well.

Very good screen. Colors/refresh rate are unbeatable for this price, as others have said. HDR is useless. 2 additional observations:

    1. It is quite heavy. Due to the metal construction of the stand, it requires a lot of strength to lift and bring it closer to you. With this screen, we pay a premium for the sturdy stand and RGB, which you don't really need. I would probably turn to the Asus TUF, which is considerably cheaper and equally capable.

    2. It has quite noticeable backlight bleed on the bottom left and right (photo).

User of the screen for about 1 year. The construction and ergonomics of the screen are fantastic. Sturdy construction.

The panel is IPS with all that entails (the positives and negatives of IPS panels)... I say this more for the performance of the Blacks.
We continue with motion in all directions, so it suits even the most demanding.
As for gaming, words are unnecessary. The big difference is evident in shooter games! The 165Hz gives you a different feeling!!!

One negative is the joystick it has for navigating the screen menu, which can break or not respond well after some use. So be careful with your movements. However, there is now the option to adjust the screen settings through software provided by Gigabyte, so the joystick will definitely not suffer anything!

The purchase is worth it, although I consider the price a bit steep!

Very good screen, worth buying with closed eyes! Mine came with backlight bleed, visible in black in the corners, but it doesn't bother me because it's worth it. Perfect colors and viewing angles, the 165hz feels like entering a whole new dimension for anyone coming from 60hz. Works flawlessly with the 1070 OC Edition, maxing out everything with 165hz and HDR. Okay, yes, the screen might struggle a bit, so you might have to make some compromises and set it to Very High or High instead of Ultra High, depending on the game, to handle everything. Pricey for me at 620 euros, but I got it for 500 and something, and I think it would make a splash in the market.

The screen is very good in terms of image quality, colors, etc. BUT for a monitor of 600 euros, the assembly and the plastics are of low quality. It is unacceptable to touch the screen for a slight tilt and hear the plastics creaking.

What can I say about this monitor, it's truly a gem, with extremely crystal-clear colors. The OSD menu is amazing, as you can control it with the mouse. Coming from a Dell Alienware 240Hz, I noticed a significant difference in color quality, as if you're playing a completely different game. It's worth every penny of the 589 euros, with zero backlight bleed. Get it without hesitation!

Amazing screen, amazing colors and overall impeccable design.
CAUTION some parts have backlight bleeding so be careful before investing in the screen.
I was lucky and only have a little on the bottom right and in the middle.

Because I can't explain well what backlight bleeding is, I will put screenshots, see for yourselves bottom left and right: https://prnt.sc/qrx8fm - https://prnt.sc/qrx8x5 - https://prnt.sc/qrx92c

  • Construction incredibly good, mainly metallic.

  • Very good screen.
