Description

Charming, sophisticated, beautiful, coldly ruthless and with a license to kill… His name? Bond, James Bond. The first appearance of the iconic James Bond in Ian Fleming's CASINO ROYALE inaugurates the unique series of books featuring the secret agent 007.

James Bond takes on the challenge at the Casino Royale against the Soviet agent Le Chiffre, who has misappropriated funds from a labor union and is trying to cover the huge deficit at the baccarat table. This is a joint operation of Britain with the French and American intelligence services, and Vesper Lynd, the secretary of the Chief who devised the plan and will be his assistant.

The chemistry between them is clear, but Bond puts duty above all else. He manages to defeat Le Chiffre, thanks to the timely assistance of the CIA, and hides the check with the astronomical sum of fifty million francs in a clever spot in the hotel room where he is staying.

When he fails to find the check, Le Chiffre and his men kidnap Vesper, using her as bait to capture Bond. In order to save her, he will break every rule, leaving destruction in his wake…
