The hub is only for 4-pin fans, but when you connect 3-pin fans to it, they operate at their maximum speed regardless of what is in the first port. It is misleading to say that it also works for 3-pin fans... So only the 4-pin ones work with the motherboard's PWM signal. Anything else can be connected, but it operates at maximum speed
