I waited a long time for it to finally be available worldwide again. For the past 5 months, the product was not available anywhere.
So it arrived and I ordered it immediately. The setup is with an Audio Technica PB40 and a Yamaha mixer, the MG10XU.
The combination of these purchases is unique for a user who wants to have the ultimate from a professional microphone.
Specifically, the DBX 286s gives you the ability to pre-amp, compress, de-ess, expand/gate, and finally adjust the output gain if needed, which I usually have at -10dB.
The DBX 286s is capable of comfortably driving the Audio Technica PB40 with the gain set at +45dB, maybe even less (the gain can be adjusted up to +60dB), so the white noise is significantly reduced, as I don't need to adjust the gain on the MG10XU mixer controller at all. I also hear many people who have a problem with the USB output volume from the MG10XU. I had it too, and the DBX 286s solved my problem.
For the compressor, I have the Drive set at 3 and the Density at 3.5.
For the De-Esser, the frequency is set at 4K and the threshold at 3.5.
I haven't adjusted the enhancer for now.
For the Expander/Gate, the threshold is a small line below -30dB, while the ratio is set at 2:1.
Output: -10dB.
All the above characteristics are for the PB40, as well as how I have set up my mini studio without any special treatment.
Περίμενα πολύ καιρό για να είναι διαθέσιμο επιτέλους ξανά παγκοσμίως. Εδώ και τους τελευταίους 5 μήνες το προιόν δεν ηταν διαθέσιμο πουθενά.
Ήρθε λοιπόν και το παρήγγειλα αμέσως. Το setup, είναι με ενα PB40 της Audio Techgnica και με εναν μικτη της Yamaha τον MG10XU.
Το σύνολο των αγορών είναι μοναδικό για εναν χρήστη που θέλει να έχει το απόλυτο απο ενα επαγγελματικό μικρόφωνο.
Συγκεκριμένα το DBX 286s σου δίνει την δυνατότητα pre-amp, compressor, De-esser, Expander/Gate και τέλος output gain αν χρειαστεί που στις περισσότερες φορές εγώ το έχω και στο -10dB.
Το DBX 286s είναι ικανό να οδηγήσει άνετα το Audio Technica PB40 με το gain στα +45dB ίσως και λιγότερο (το gain μπορεί να ρυθμιστεί εως και τα +60dB), έτσι το whitenoise πέφτει αισθητά, διότι στον controller mixer MG10XU δεν χρειάζεται να πειράξω καθόλου το gain. Επίσης ακούω πολλούς που έχουν πρόβλημα με το Output USB της έντασης απο τον MG10XU. Το είχα και εγώ και με το DBX 286s έλυσα το προβλημα μου.
Στον compressor έχω το Drive: 3, Density: 3.5.
De-Esser το frequency: 4K, Threshold: 3.5
Το enchancer δεν το έχω πειράξει προς το παρόν.
Expander/Gate.. Threshold: είναι μια μικρή γραμμή κάτω απο το -30dB, ενώ το Ratio: 2:1
Output: -10dB
Όλα τα παραπάνω χαρακτηριστικά είναι για το PB40 καθώς και όπως έχω σετάρει το δικό μου μινι studio χωρίς κάποιο ιδιαίτερο treatment.
