It is a special joy for the A.G. Leventis Foundation to organize an exhibition at the National Gallery - Alexandros Soutsos Museum featuring selections from the three significant collections of the Foundation, collections that are being presented together for the first time in their history.

As part of the Foundation's goals to promote the arts through various events around the world, we are pleased to share these 270 works of art with the public, in the welcoming abode of the National Gallery in Athens. The exhibition opens with the Paris Collection, the oldest of the collections, which began to be formed in the 1950s, and which includes works covering a wide range of European painting from the 17th to the 20th century.

The private Collection of Anastasios E. Leventis, housed in his apartment in Paris, has not been extensively presented to the public until now. The Greek Collection, already published and widely known, has gradually been enriched over the last 20 years with new works of painting, drawings, and prints, from both older and newer artists of the 19th and 20th centuries. The exhibition concludes with works from the Cypriot Collection, which contains outstanding creations from the first and second generations of Cypriot artists.

Leventis Foundation, and to Maria Katsanaki, curator of the National Gallery - also, to Myrto Chatzaki, curator of the Paris Collection, to Eleni Nikita, curator of the Cypriot Collection, to Sonia Charalambidou and Michel Rossier for the architectural design, to Alexandra Tiligada of the A.G. Leventis Foundation for coordinating the administrative tasks, to Loukia Loizou-Hatzigavriil, Director of the Leventis Gallery in Cyprus, for her contribution and to Sylvie Hartmann who oversaw the preservation of the works from the Paris Collection.
