The monograph "The US-EU Agreement on the Implementation of Competition Law - The Interplay of Extraterritoriality of the Competition Law of the Contracting Parties," a product of a doctoral dissertation, examines the issue of cooperation between the two superpowers in the field of competition law and the coordination of competition policies, particularly at the level of their extraterritorial application.
The monograph, following an introductory chapter in which the methodology for approaching the issue is presented, is structured into two major parts:
i) The first part discusses the provisions of the agreement on the early soft law of cooperative extraterritoriality in conjunction with the soft law of competition, highlighting, on the one hand, the loosely crystallized customary law as a method for establishing cooperative practices of soft competition law, and on the other hand, the soft institutional law of cooperative extraterritoriality as a method for harmonizing soft competition law.
ii) The second part deals with the provisions of the agreement on the positivized soft law of coordinated extraterritoriality in conjunction with the hard law of competition, emphasizing on one side the positively soft law of coordinated extraterritoriality as a method for coordinating the hard law of competition, and on the other, the quasi-positive law as a method for coordinated extraterritorial regulation of the hard law of competition.
The monograph is enriched by an appendix of related legal and economic concepts, the text of the examined Agreement rendered in the Greek language, indicative bibliography, and full appendices of legislation/jurisprudence, as well as a thematic index.
