I have edited my review quite a bit to first write the important things so that everyone knows what they are buying. First, it should be mentioned that the product does what it promises with good results ONLY if there is suitable/sufficient lighting. The ipevo has its own LED lighting, but it is not sufficient for all tasks. When I saw the problems, I looked again at the various videos for the ipevo online and realized that they are all shot with professional lighting. So, I was wrong to believe that as soon as I connected it, I would get good results in any lighting conditions. That's why I was disappointed. However, when I connected it to a laptop and sat next to a window with daylight, I found that its effectiveness increased impressively. So, only under the right light does the product perform as it should, unless we are primarily interested in scanning in Black-White where colors and 'grain' in photography do not matter. Also, if we scan in grayscale, we have fewer problems again.
Beyond that, however, these types of scanner-cameras confront you with issues that do not exist in traditional scanners: e.g., depending on the angle of the light, color differences, glares, or shadows may appear, and of course, any paper, a receipt, a bill, etc. that was folded or crumpled must be stretched/smoothed in order to be scanned correctly (usually by pressing from above with transparent plexiglass). Unfortunately, advertisements do not mention these things and we are misled. Certainly, though, it is not expensive to ask for a piece of plexiglass to be cut for us at a glass and crystal shop.
Before I continue, I should say that you will definitely need additional software to correct the scanned image and fortunately, there is an excellent free program, "Scan Tailor advanced" which provides so many solutions that its existence reduces the user's initial disappointment with the ipevo: this program corrects all kinds of image distortions due to the position of the object, dramatically increases resolution when scanning an open book in Black-White, removes to some extent the ISO 'noise' (grain) in color images due to poor lighting, and many more.
    You can find it here:

There is also a good usage video:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IM1EqJ3MCII

The ipevo works on a USB 2.0 port, but because the image freezes for seconds due to the volume of data, it is better to connect it to a USB 3.0 port.

The camera is quite small in size, just 6 cm long and 4 cm wide. The main software is "IPEVO Visualizer" (see https://us.ipevo.com/pages/software ). With this, all the tasks shown in the image I uploaded can be done (as soon as we open the program, in the center and below there is an icon with an arrow above, we press it and a drop-down menu opens from where we choose the task we want).

The ipevo can be used for the following tasks:
    - Distance learning. It works very well as a personal camera, but also, when pointed downwards, it can clearly display something we write or draw so that the other side can see it. The image quality is very good and the auto-focus works reliably and quickly.

    - Video recording of actions and objects. Here too, the result is very good and the effects available in the "Visualizer," such as "slow motion" / "time-lapse" / "stop motion," work just fine. Also, the Ipevo V4K has a built-in microphone and we can record video with sound.

    - Document scanning. Individual pages, receipts, bills, business cards, notes, etc. can be photographed easily and quickly. Here, the help of "Scan Tailor advanced" is invaluable because regardless of the lighting, the image capture is improved, making the Ipevo's LED lighting and camera resolution sufficient. Of course, the result cannot be compared to a traditional scanner, unless there is very good lighting on the object. However, if we want to store our documents in Black-White, then we get an almost perfect result. When photographing A4 size, the Ipevo needs to be placed at a height of 10-15 cm to fit in the frame (see the image I uploaded from the presentation video). For example, we can place it on some books or on its packaging box.

    - Book scanning. Usually, we scan books with text open and save 2 pages at a time in Black-White for smaller file size. To fit an open standard-sized book in the camera's field, we first need to place the Ipevo higher (10-15 cm). The "Visualizer" program in the "Document" option has a sensor that can detect the open book and allows you to specify that it is an image with two pages to be split in the middle. In fact, it can save the two pages simultaneously either as 2 images or as one PDF file. However, it does not automatically flatten the area where the two pages of the open book meet. Here, again, "Scan Tailor advanced" is needed. While the 8MP camera resolution is low for a clear image when scanning an open book in Black-White, "Scan Tailor advanced" proves impressive as it increases the resolution with an algorithm and our book looks like it has been scanned in Black-White 600dpi (see the image I uploaded showing how the scanned text appears in the "Finereader" program and how smooth it becomes in "Scan Tailor").

    - Photo scanning. Here we have the greatest limitations and the worst performance unless we are in a place with plenty of daylight or if we use a laptop and scan our old photos next to a window with sunlight. On a scale of 10, the Ipevo's results with simple indoor lighting reach only 3, while with daylight they improve dramatically and reach 9. Even with the help of "Scan Tailor advanced" miracles do not happen because the problem starts from the storage: the saved photo, even if scanned at the highest IPEVO resolution, has intense "grain" and with the slightest enlargement the photo looks like it was taken by a smartphone from the previous decade. So if we want good digital copies of our old photos, lighting is very important.

In conclusion, the 8MP camera and the title "document scanner" indicate the product's limits, which only delivers good results with properly designed lighting. If "Scan Tailor advanced" was included in the Ipevo package, it would be a complete solution. At least, however, it is free and this increases the value of investing in the Ipevo.

(NOTE: the "Visualizer" program still has some issues that I imagine will be resolved in future versions.) For example, if you press the drop-down menu somewhat persistently, it freezes and starts moving continuously so you have to close the program. Also, if you try to quickly make many settings, there is again a chance it will freeze and the program needs to be restarted
