Education from yesterday to today and the experiment of the Unified Multiclass Lyceum (UML) is a concise study of our educational system, from the establishment of the modern Greek state until today, with special reference to educational systems of other countries. The research focuses on educational policy - one of the ways of expressing the ideological orientation of each government - and records as a characteristic example the Unified Multiclass Lyceum. This school represents an attempt to change education, an experiment that was not completed during the period of the Metapolitefsi. This work highlights the functioning of the UML, its positive evaluation and its abolition, through the use of primary and other research material (school archival material, educational journals, newspapers, interviews with former students and teachers, education officials, political figures, etc.).
In addition, an attempt is made to connect the UML with today's school, as it appears that part of its rich educational/pedagogical legacy is still used today in the secondary education level.
