Description

Is it reasonable for two people to promise each other that they will be together forever? Can they, however, keep that promise? "Whoever wants to break up… raise your hand," is the first play by George Kapoutzidis, which centers on human relationships.

Four friends, Dimitra, Kiki, Haris, and Natasha, live their own stories somewhere in Athens. The main question arising from our story is: "Can someone be happy alone without being married or committed?" And the answer may lie in the fact that people always seek the magic that exists between them.

One person wanting to be with the other: to be together, to dream together, to laugh together, to breathe together. Married or not, it doesn’t really matter. What matters is for someone to live those dreams, not to live what they can... due to certain circumstances...

George Kapoutzidis reveals through the dialogues of his characters, which are filled with humor in a tragic envelope, the issue of faithfulness and infidelity in marriage and relationships. The text is deeply tragicomic, devoid of unnecessary rhetorical complexities.

Moreover, the author manages to lift the mat that we place in the center of our daily lives and uncover the hidden secrets, innermost desires, and unspoken fears of his characters, challenging us to do exactly the same: to talk about what we desire and what we fear... And with the phrase "Sorry if it hurts you, but it's the truth…”, any challenge becomes an invitation to change ourselves and our virtual lives...
