Description

MINI PLASMA BALL 8 cm. A phenomenon similar to lightning, but in controlled conditions! At the center of this glass sphere, a core with high electric potential, surrounded by low-pressure gas (plasma), causes distinct discharges of electrons. You can influence the phenomenon by touching the surface of the glass sphere. This generates mechanical vibrations and temperature fluctuations, resulting in the electric discharges concentrating at the point you touch.

The plasma lamp was invented by Nikola Tesla after his experiments with high-frequency currents in an empty glass tube to study high-voltage phenomena. The modern design of the plasma sphere was developed by Bill Parker, a student at MIT.

  • Diameter: 8 cm
  • Operates either with 4 AA batteries (not included) or with a USB cable (included).
