Channels are selected using the CH/EMG controls, while the manual SQUELCH reduces noise and the RF GAIN control adjusts reception sensitivity. It features a double-conversion superheterodyne receiver and can function as an audio amplifier when connected to an external speaker.

The LED display has green backlighting, and PLL technology maintains tuning stability. Its housing is made of ABS.
