This book is designed to meet the needs of two language courses offered by the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). It is essentially a teaching manual that summarizes the key notes and material delivered in class to students in the 5th semester of the Business Administration Department and to students in the 7th semester of the Accounting and Finance Department. This is the main reason why its content is primarily oriented towards finance. Another reason arises from observations and feedback regarding the needs of students attending English language courses at AUEB, as well as from consultations with fellow teachers at other higher education institutions where English is generally taught for professional purposes.
