This book is a collection of individual experiential narratives about the Polytechnic Uprising (November 14-18, 1973). It consists of eighty-four transcribed texts of oral testimonies-interviews with as many narrators, which were conducted from late 2010 to the fall of 2019.
It is a systematic study of oral history based on overlapping criteria of representativeness regarding participation in the events, which include testimonies from women and men, female and male students, trade unionists of the anti-dictatorship student movement, members of illegal organizations, school students, workers, demonstrators injured by bullets, eyewitnesses, and military personnel.
The primary goal of the book is to serve as a body of information that will address some of the gaps in research regarding the Polytechnic Uprising, and at the same time, to contribute to the preservation of the memory of one of the most iconic events in modern Greek history, which continues to be the subject of intense emotional charge as well as to undergo various distortions and diverse revisions.
