Description & Specifications

Plyometric training is a very effective form of exercise that contributes to the improvement of power and explosiveness in the entire muscular system, primarily in the limbs.

The exercises used are mainly hopping, ballistic, and explosive, and usually require very high intensities. Therefore, knowledge of the correct application of plyometric training is essential for greater effectiveness and to avoid injuries that may occur in the case of improper application.

This book refers to plyometric training and is divided into three parts. The first part includes a brief history of it, while presenting how this training affects the athlete's performance.

The second part contains information on how it contributes to the improvement of the execution of power-speed movements and consequently to the increase of performance in various sports. Along with this, the basic principles of executing plyometric exercises are presented.

Following in the third part is the description of 40 fundamental exercises that can be applied to specific sports. These are accompanied by sets of diagrams that aid in better understanding and execution.

Finally, in a supplementary chapter of the book, there is an initial theoretical approach to the foundations of physiology on which the plyometric exercises are based. "Plyometric Training" is a book aimed at coaches and athletes who would like to understand plyometric training and its correct application in specific sports as well as possible.
