To magnetize a tool, slowly insert it through the lower rectangular opening marked “+”. To demagnetize it, insert it through the upper opening marked “−”. If demagnetization is incomplete, the process can be repeated on another setting after magnetizing the tool again. The result depends on the steel alloy and the tool’s diameter.
