Among the many Dictionaries of the Ancient Greek Language available, we aimed to provide high school students and even more so those taking elective courses of the Third Stream with a user-friendly dictionary.
This Dictionary is orthographic, interpretative, and etymological. One of the best in its kind, it has been continuously improved and revised for twenty-five years since its first edition.
It contains and explains words found in the works of renowned ancient Greek prose writers, who wrote in the Attic dialect. Therefore, it does not include words from poets, Herodotean terms, and later authors except for a few. Also, words that have the same meaning in both ancient and modern Greek, such as: athlete, merchandise, lament, hut, disease, juice, wheel, etc., are not included.
