This dictionary of ancient Greek was compiled with three main innovations compared to similar lexicographical manuals:
- Only the forest verbs of ancient Greek were deliberately chosen, as they constitute the quintessence of the ancient Greek language, modern knowledge, and educational examination.
- Each verb is analyzed based on the triptych: grammar - syntax - vocabulary. Therefore, the complete formal arrangement of each verb is as follows:
- Grammar:
- Table of initial tenses with full temporal and modal replacement. Poetic and later forms are noted in parentheses ( ) and brackets [ ] respectively, where deemed necessary. Certain PRT and YPR have been formed analogously to ENS and PRK respectively.
- Grammatical observations concerning the dual-time, declension, tone elevation, similar forms of the verb with other verbs. Etymology in the strict sense of the term was omitted, as it is no longer a subject of teaching or examination.
- Syntax:
- Basic syntaxes of each verb and their detailed translation. Syntaxes with prepositional determination are noted where deemed necessary.
- Vocabulary:
- Compounds of the verb with their translation and in certain cases with their syntax. The compounds were chosen based on their frequency in texts, as well as if their meaning changes in modern Greek.
- Various: useful information that could not be classified into another category and differs from verb to verb.
- Derivatives in modern Greek of each verb.
- Frequent or obscure verbal adjectives.
- The derivatives of each verb are given in modern Greek and not in ancient Greek. This choice, although bold for an ancient Greek dictionary, serves two purposes: initially connecting - by the teacher or the student - ancient with modern Greek, in the form of an etymological game that holds surprises. Then, it responds to specific types of exercises according to the new educational system.
