A collection of texts and interviews by Foucault, unpublished in Greek, starting with one of the most important texts of the French philosopher (on Georges Bataille) and concluding with another equally famous text on heterotopias.
Between the first and the last text, a series of interventions illuminate Foucault's journey, from The Order of Things (and even earlier, from the first studies on psychology and literature) to The History of Sexuality, from the problematic of the archaeology of human sciences to the problematic of the aesthetics of existence and the modes of subjectivation.
The collection of texts primarily focuses on the first and last period of Foucault's thought and includes some of the most significant interventions of the French philosopher, as well as interviews and discussions on philosophy, ethics, Marxism, the French left, etc.
A prominent place is held by the extensive discussion on structuralism and post-structuralism, where the philosopher refers to the history of formalism and structuralism, to his personal philosophical journey, to Nietzsche's decisive role, but also to his relationship with Freud and Marx, stating succinctly: “I have never been a Freudian, I have never been a Marxist, I have never been a structuralist.” [Excerpt from the text on the back cover of the edition]
