The third volume of the complete works of the unparalleled master of horror. The Color Out of Space, Dagon, and The Transition of Juan Romero – the three tales of primordial terror and "cosmic" chill in the third volume of the complete works of the legendary author Howard Phillips Lovecraft.
The volume is introduced by S. T. Joshi, Lovecraft's biographer (I am Providence: The life and times of H. P. Lovecraft) and one of the most authoritative contemporary scholars of his work.
Howard Phillips Lovecraft was born on August 20, 1890, in Providence, Rhode Island. Introverted, frail, and a lover of literature – but also of astronomy – from a very young age, Lovecraft spent large periods of his life isolated from the outside world.
He began to take writing seriously shortly before reaching adulthood, and in 1923 he started publishing his short stories in the horror magazine Weird Tales. He once said that "all my stories are based on the fundamental premise that common human laws and human feelings have no validity and significance in the universe."
