It starts and stops its operation on its own depending on the water level as the built-in float takes the command. You can also start it manually with the press of a small lever. It doesn't consume much electricity and has a small size that fits comfortably even in small household pits. The length of the cable for the job I need it for is more than enough. I have installed it for pumping waste from a condensing boiler (condensates) and it has no issues as it absorbs without sticking, etc. I would prefer if it came with a hose in the package, even just 1-2 meters, so that it would be complete in all aspects. Overall, very satisfied with its use.
