The brass bands of Corfu constitute a completely unique institution in the Greek context, and this is known both by the Corfiots who experience the succession of generations within each band, and by the island's visitors, both Greek and foreign.

The book can serve as an ambassador of this musical heritage, and that is why the edition released is bilingual, allowing the bands to travel abroad, this time through a book.

In this edition, the Corfiots will recognize a piece of their special homeland that they have known since childhood, while others will recognize the many and significant contributions that systematic engagement with music has provided to the place, this great tradition which is, however, simultaneously a living reality.
