Description

In 1980, Michalis X. Fotopoulos, together with his wife Maria Fotopoulou, started as amateurs with five hives in Akrithochori, Messinia. They produced honey for their family and to share with relatives and friends.

By 1983, their hives had increased to 200 and were moved to the wider area of Messinian Mani and the mountains of Taygetus. In 1994, their son Charalambos Fotopoulos took over the business after acquiring knowledge in beekeeping through educational seminars.

Fotopoulos Beekeeping "Taygetus Honey" has been certified with ISO 22000:2005 for the production, packaging, and marketing of beekeeping products since January 8, 2009.
