Children who embark on life must believe in something; they should have some ideal beyond the desire for financial success. It is a lie and a great mistake to give young people the impression that it is impossible to thrive unless they use all means, including those that are not above board. Honesty is the best tool for a young person who wants to succeed in life if they are truly determined to devote all their strength to the purpose they set for themselves, without of course the one-sidedness that withers their youth and humanity, but also without wasting their energies on many things and nothing, losing their courage at every gust of adverse wind.
In simple and understandable language, the book narrates how a twelve-year-old who started as a 'barker' at Panagopoulos' shop in Agrinio came to have a significant international presence in the tobacco markets, creating tobacco factories in Athens, Germany, and Egypt. During the December events, he found himself forcibly confined in his apartment and in absolute inactivity, and, reminiscing about his life, he wanted to record his personal memories, the events, and the efforts he made to achieve his dreams and ambitions.
Upon reading the book, one immediately realizes that Evangelos Papastratos' journey can serve as an example and a source of optimism and inspiration for young people. Evangelos Papastratos was a simple, active, insightful man with deep human and moral values. He believed in family, work, and progress, and he proved this through all of his life.
Alongside his business activities, he actively and substantially participated at times as president or advisory board member of numerous charitable and philanthropic institutions as well as sacred temples in Athens, Piraeus, and his hometown, Agrinio. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to the Special Vocational Training and Rehabilitation Workshop for young people with intellectual disabilities 'Panagia Eleousa' in Agrinio.
