Description

After nearly 25 years of growth activity of factoring in Greece, the first comprehensive "roadmap" is being published, aiming to become the foundational knowledge resource for anyone interested.

The book "Factoring: From Theory to Practice" has been written by a business professional, but also aims to create the appropriate academic background, advocating for the product to occupy a significant chapter in the curriculum of modern financial theory.

The international expansion of factoring follows the trend of globalization and the growth of cross-border trade. More importantly, for developed economies, factoring remains the most dynamic financial product of domestic business activity, as it relies on the trade cycle and credit involved, and can confidently claim to finance the real economy by taking on realistic and controlled risks.

The book is intended for both the academic and business communities. The author's goal was to facilitate knowledge exchange and enrichment through the interaction of two channels: academic theory on one side and practical experience from industry professionals and the business community on the other. This book challenges that interaction and seeks opportunities for constructive critique.

It also dares to compile and reinforce the practices of factoring professionals in Greece and abroad, aiming to reconcile differences and break stereotypes. Perhaps, it is this obsession with stereotypes and rigidity that has so far prevented a comprehensive printed depiction of factoring.

The unique nature of the product makes it an important tool not only for Finance Department executives but also for other business leaders. Therefore, beyond entrepreneurs and Chief Financial Officers, the book aims to broaden its readership to include Procurement and Sales Department managers.

Finally, the book provides extensive references to institutional issues that could serve as a basis for discussions on the legislative integration of international guidelines and practices.
