This book deals with issues related to the introduction to the Teaching of Natural Sciences, as it has been shaped as an autonomous scientific area in recent years, but also attempts to establish a connection between Teaching and the teaching practices of Natural Sciences.
In the first part, an attempt is made to approach the terms under which the issues of Teaching and teaching of Natural Sciences were detached from traditional Pedagogy and became a distinct scientific object that is part of the Sciences of Education and is in continuous interaction with Learning Psychology, Epistemology, and the Natural Sciences themselves.
In the second part, basic theoretical concepts of the Teaching of Natural Sciences are depicted, within the framework of which research highlights issues related to the study of students' thinking, learning practices and processes, and the formation of school knowledge and teaching objects, as well as their interactions.
Finally, in the third part of the book, concepts and issues are presented that, while starting from the field of contemporary Teaching of Natural Sciences, are more closely related to teaching issues and the development of teaching practices.
