Description

The LP5x retains the J-shaped tonearm, a design inspired by classic Audio-Technica models from the 1960s and '70s, and features a metal suspension system and precision bearings to mitigate tracking errors.

The tonearm also includes adjustable counterweight control and anti-skate, and is equipped with a lightweight (9.3g) AT-HS6 shell and AT-VM95E Dual Moving Magnet cartridge. Made from anti-vibration damping materials with heavy-duty metal frame inserts, the AT-LP5x turntable is designed to limit low-frequency acoustic feedback.

The AT-LP5x features a built-in MM / MC preamplifier that allows direct connection to your stereo amplifier and other devices that do not have a dedicated turntable input. The choice of MM / MC cartridges allows for easy upgrades.

The turntable is also equipped with a USB output for direct connection to a computer.

    For the money, it is good; it is a simple turntable that does its job well.
    Its build quality is average to good, and the cartridge with the stylus it comes with is simply a cartridge meant to play.

    For someone who has a mediocre to poor system, it is perfectly fine, an honest machine.

    It has one advantage: you can remove the cartridge it comes with and, for 175 euros, get the AT-VM75ML microline stylus-cartridge, which is the flagship of the series.

    When that happens, the turntable is transformed into an incredibly good turntable, and you have to go well above 1000 euros to match it... I have an external RIAA preamp; its own one plays somewhat low in volume, which is why I give it -1 star, but it is decent
