Once upon a time, there was a frog named Mr. Jeremiah Brekekex. Mr. Jeremiah lived in a small damp house, among the water lilies, at the edge of a little pond.

The water was everywhere slimy-slippery in the cellar and in the back hall. But Mr. Jeremiah didn't mind getting his feet wet. No one had ever scolded him for it, and he had never caught a cold!
