The Guardians of Achaea unfold in the region of Achaea, with their action centered in Patras and Aigio during the era of the colonels' dictatorship. I chose Achaea - one of the most socially and culturally developed areas of Greece - for its Dionysian landscapes, its rich historical past, its picturesque layout, and its pervasive lust, traits that inspire the novelist to weave an intriguing plot.
In this plot, individuals from all generations and social classes are involved: industrialists, wealthy individuals, politicians, professionals, hedonistic women, university professors, students, clergy, underworld figures, socialites, and street people, all driven in their daily conflicts by various interests.
The central event is the feud between two families, around which a tug-of-war unfolds from dramatic phases of dominance and submission with a catastrophic outcome.
