The highly symbolic year 2000 divides the course of the Greek economy into two distinct phases: the accession to the Eurozone, which marks the end of the pre-Eurozone era, and the post-Eurozone era.
The position of the Greek economy in the post-Eurozone era thus becomes the defining issue for a period that promises to be long, positive, and interesting, but certainly not easy given the prevailing conditions in the global market.
The core of my argument is that the post-accession era of the country to the Eurozone is the time of the real economy, the time of comparative advantages that can secure the overall competitiveness of the Greek economy within the conditions of the post-industrial era, the information society, and the knowledge economy.
In any case, this is the quest of the new era.
