The Pentair C2 replacement filter uses cellulose impregnated with powdered activated carbon to treat household drinking water. It reduces fine sediment and chlorine taste and odor, with a nominal filtration rating of 5 μm and an efficiency of 85%. It reduces free available chlorine by at least 75% for up to 1,250 gallons, at a flow rate of 0.5 gpm.

The filter support is made of polyester, and the outer mesh is made of polyethylene. It is installed on the main water supply line and can be installed in either direction. A wrench is required for replacement, and the initial pressure drop is 2 psi at 2 gpm.
