Description

The eleventh volume of the Complete Works of J. V. Stalin contains the writings produced from January 1928 to March 1929. During this period, the Bolshevik party, relying on the successes achieved in the socialist industrialization of the country, undertook intensive actions to prepare the transition of the working masses of the peasantry from the path of individual householding to the path of the kolkhoz socialist household.

The party, consistently applying the line of collectivization of the agricultural economy outlined at the 15th Congress of the Communist Party (Bolsheviks) of the USSR, prepared all the necessary conditions for the mass enrollment of farmers into the kolkhozes. With the escalation of socialism's offensive against the kulaks (i.e., the rural bourgeoisie), a tendency towards compromise with the kulaks emerged within the ranks of the Communist Party (Bolsheviks).

This was expressed in the Political Bureau of the Communist Party (Bolsheviks) by Bukharin, Tomsky, and Rykov. J. V. Stalin, in his letter 'To the Members of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee', in his speeches 'The Right Danger in the Communist Party (Bolsheviks) of the USSR', 'The Industrialization of the Country and the Right Deviation in the Communist Party (Bolsheviks) of the USSR', 'The Bukharin Group and the Right Deviation in Our Party', in his article 'What Happened' and in other works, reveals the kulak counter-revolutionary essence of the right deviation, exposes the undermining actions of the right capitulators and the Trotskyist illegal anti-Soviet organization, and indicates the need for an irreconcilable struggle on both fronts, focusing fire against the right deviation.
