Description

Description

Learning difficulties represent a significant issue that affects a considerable number of students at all levels of education. Dyslexia, as a specific learning difficulty, is a reality in the education of children and adolescents.

These disorders, however, pertain to many aspects of human development, primarily language and linguistic processing, which form the foundation of learning and knowledge acquisition. Therefore, these disorders must be analyzed from their linguistic perspective, considering all their parameters, such as phonological awareness.

Cognitive functions are important for the development of learning abilities, specifically memory, attention, and perception. The causes, symptoms, and types of dyslexia are analyzed to complete its picture, particularly the symptoms of the disorder in written language.

The analysis concludes with a concise description of educational and therapeutic intervention methods and the presentation of some indicative cases of students and their symptoms in reading and writing.

The third book in the series addresses the issue of Dyslexia:

  • A. Theory of learning difficulties and dyslexia
  • B. Study of children's writing and spelling mistakes in Greece
  • C. Brief presentation of intervention methods for learning difficulties
  • D. Presentation of 3 cases of children with LD

This is a publication that includes original research on 165 students from Greek schools with actual writing mistakes.
