The author of Reflections was born in 1937 in Gythio, Laconia. He closely experienced the events of the Occupation and the Civil War. The bloody experiences of that period indelibly marked his psyche. In 1950, he settled in Aigaleo, at a time when violent urbanization, the stripping of the countryside, and the alteration of the Attic landscape were taking place. He works while simultaneously attending Aigaleo High School. In 1957, he is admitted among the top students to the School of Philosophy in Athens. He continues to work and study, while also actively participating in the student movement; at the same time, he collaborates with various newspapers and magazines.
