The Nissin MF18 Macro Ring Flash unit for Sony is specifically designed for use with Canon cameras that have E-TTL and E-TTL II capabilities. Thanks to the Fine Macro mode, it provides extremely precise control of light from 1/128 to 1/1204 in 1/6 EV steps. When used in manual mode, it can be adjusted in 1/3 EV steps from full power down to 1/64 of power. Its design is split in the middle, allowing for varied results depending on the environmental lighting conditions, and it works in conjunction with the head, enabling use on lenses with a diameter from 49mm to 82mm.
