The Aqua Pure APCYD replacement water filter is made from solid coconut shell activated carbon and has a pore size of 1 μm. It reduces chlorine, sediment and suspended particles, as well as heavy metals such as lead, copper and mercury. It also traps volatile organic compounds, pesticides and herbicides, including atrazine.

The filter does not release carbon dust. Its maximum filtered water capacity is 12,000 litres, and replacement is recommended every 6–12 months.
