The Doulton Sterasyl OBE ceramic Water Filter is made of high-quality ceramic material infused with silver and an active carbon core that acts as an antibacterial, preventing the growth of bacteria in the filter.
It is used as a pre-filter in double or triple countertop filters. It is also used as the first stage of trapping suspended solids (sediment, sludge, rust) and pathogenic bacteria. Tested with live Cryptosporidium for removal efficiency > 99.999%.
The ceramic filter contains a specially formulated self-sterilizing silver composition, so the Sterasyl element does not require additional sterilization after cleaning.
The silver content is accurately controlled to remain within the maximum levels recommended by the World Health Organization and the EPA.
