    In the last 12 years, I have broken five stick blenders and in all of them, the shaft or the blade broke, which makes the motor useless after the warranty expires because even if I buy just the shaft, I know it will break soon or there is simply no replacement part available. In this machine, the construction seems sturdy, the blade unscrews and the shaft comes out of the rod. The whole machine seems to withstand heavy household use - hummus, frozen bananas, etc.
