The QWaterFilters PP-10" replacement water filter traps suspended particles such as dirt, sand, rust, sediment and fine particles. It is made of polypropylene and designed for countertop or under-sink systems, reverse osmosis systems and main water supply systems.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
Users find that it effectively captures sand, rust, and other solid particles, and highlight its affordable price. It is often used as a pre-filter on the main water supply or before an activated carbon filter, helping protect the next filter. However, it needs to be replaced regularly, as it darkens when full, and some users report that one particular batch did not filter adequately.
Ideal for the Municipality’s central water supply network.
Since the water in the network is always dark-colored, I use them very often because of their low cost, which can currently be as little as €1.44... I don’t know about later.
I use this 1μm polypropylene filter in a double countertop device from https://www.skroutz.gr/s/21825689/Eiger-Countertop-Syskeyi-Filtrou-Nerou-Ano-Pagou-Dipli-WF-02-201.html where it is placed in the initial transparent cartridge—where you can see its condition at any time—and additionally to take the "hit" from mud and solid particles and protect the next expensive activated carbon filter.
Then, in the next white cartridge, I place the excellent Pentair 10" CBR2-10 0.5μm filter (which I change once a year/which is also suitable for lead) and the quality of the water I get is almost perfect!!!
It is simply good, if you use polypropylene filters (preferably with the smallest possible micron rating—to catch even the smallest particles or to protect the next activated carbon filter), to check them from time to time to see if they start to "brown."
As soon as you see this, open the cartridge and replace the filter.
DO NOT LET THEM TURN DARK BROWN, IT'S A CRIME!!!
Of course, if the cartridge that holds it is transparent (as in my case), you can see when it changes color.
For the Athens area, I change the above 1μm filter twice a year (after 6 months, it starts to brown/get slightly dirty).
Of course, I could leave it longer but, honestly, the cost is minimal.
I change it and have peace of mind.
Very good fit on the filter bases, and it collects all the pollutants from the water, also it has a very good price
Very good, I would say excellent.
I change it approximately every six months and I can say that when I remove it, it is in a deep brown shade, from mud and rust coming from the old network in my area.
I use it in the main supply, as the first stage in a double-body atlas series, with the second stage being the Matrikx Countertop Water Filter Replacement from Activated Carbon.
They do an amazing job, perfect combination!
It does a very good job filtering solid particles and improves the clarity of the water.
Use as a pre-filter to retain dirt and sand so that the faucet filter lasts longer.
Economical and efficient.
It definitely needs to be changed every 3 months.
In the photo you will see what happened when I forgot it for 7 months.
Very good filtering for its 10 microns. We change it weekly in terrible water and it does the job at a very good price.
This batch they released lately is very bad. Here in the village, our water is not very clean. We have very fine sand in the water. Normally, there was no problem with the previous batch they had. The water came out crystal clear. From this batch, the water turns slightly brown and they don't clean it.
It does what it promises. When I opened it for the first change, I saw that it had retained a lot of stuff from coarse particles. In fact, I had to rinse the container before putting in the new one. I have it as a pre-filter under the counter.
I use it as a first filter 'to catch the bulk', as soon as it turns brown you realize it's starting to work, as time goes by the brownness moves inward and darkens so it needs to be changed.
I change it approximately every three months and the main one every year, I notice that after three months it has already turned brown.
I don't know how others used it, but I have it as a third filter in the tank (the previous two are larger in size) that I have for drilling and it filters very well. At least visible dirt or particles do not pass through this filter. Since I put it, not even the smallest grain of sand or anything else has entered the tank. I have been using this filter for 8 months.
