I use it for cooking and drinking water and I have not noticed any decrease in water quality during the time I have been using it. The installation was very easy and the only reason I give it 4 stars is because it is not a branded product as the description states, but rather a generic one. In summary, it has saved us from buying bottles and has greatly improved the smell of the water.
