I connected the male to my PC, one VGA (female) to my monitor, and the other VGA (female) to the TV, and whenever I select the correct HDMI port on the TV, it displays whatever is on my computer. Of course, now I want a wireless mouse (+keyboard) etc., but OK, the beginning has been made! Personally, I had HDMI with an extra attachment that connects to the edge and provides VGA + USB (for image + sound transmission, as shown in my photo).
