It is a butenediol-vinyl alcohol copolymer for extrusion molding, with applications in coating, emulsification and bonding. It is sensitive to light and sunlight. More than 20 cm³ of water per gram of BVOH is required for dissolution; disposal through household wastewater is limited to up to 2 kg of BVOH per day.
