In modern societies, women's employment is a social phenomenon that, with its extent and dynamics, signifies essential social changes.
Indeed, the massiveness of women's employment means a substantial restructuring of both the labor market and social life - and requires a reconsideration of both the functioning and mechanisms of this market as well as the organization and dynamics of society.
The ten issues briefly presented in this book constitute ten different approaches to the social phenomenon of women's employment. These approaches aim to highlight not only the extent and importance of the aforementioned restructuring but also the need to formulate new analytical tools, interpretive frameworks, evaluative concepts, and systems that allow for the observation of this new reality, its description, evaluation, management, and prediction of its further evolution.
