Its consistency is more like a cream than a clay. On the positive side, you can work it very easily in your hands and hair without pulling your hair out, it has a nice scent and doesn't weigh the hair down. On the negative side, it's not high hold, it feels more like medium hold to me. Also, it doesn't last very long on its own, so I have to combine it with hair spray at the end.
