5/5 if it had more pages. First of all, I have almost the entire series. Very nice illustrations to keep the child's interest and at the same time learn history (but also geography, it has maps and children ask various questions, where we live, where is this place, etc). The kids (3 and 2 years old) loved it, they ask for it every night. They have learned all the heroes, the enlighteners, and the 3 founders of the friendly company. The illustrations are based on classic paintings of the revolution adapted for children. Instead of reading silly fairy tales to our children without any lesson (except for the classic fairy tales that are top-notch), we teach them history in an entertaining way. Additionally, if a parent does not know history, they can follow the words of the book and teach the child, but if they do know, they can provide additional information to the child (not to mention that children ask other questions beyond the book). Overall, this series of books is amazing (especially the 1821 and 1940 ones)
