A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this drink is allocated to the "Elephant Amarula" elephant rescue research program at the University of Natal.     Initially, what caught my attention was the bottle, as no one had told me about this liqueur before. From the description, I understood that it resembles Baileys and indeed, when you taste it, it strongly reminds you of it, but with a slight difference. It has 17% alcohol and 20% sugar, and it originates from Africa, being produced from the fruit of the marula tree, known as the elephant tree. You will usually find it in duty-free shops and rarely in liquor stores.
